Christmas and the New Year festivities now behind me I am so looking forward to 2016.
Last year I nearly gave all this up because I was working almost a 12 hour day to get us to where we are today. There has been a lot of hard work and a few tears along the way wondering what I had taken on. I do love this group and the achievements we have made. The online support group now has 670 members and the website has now had over 100,000 viewings
I am please to report we are now an Independent Charity and I have an amazing team of volunteers to support me. I will be putting a photograph of our new team on the website in about 2 weeks time.
The online support group and community page have had the initials LWO added to their titles this will make it easier to refer to these groups.
I am currently working on organising our Lymphoedema Awareness Day which is to be held at Ambleside, Ambleside Way, Nuneaton CV11 6AT. The date for this day is Wednesday 11th of May 2016 between 10 a.m. - 4.00 p.m. This year there will be new speakers along with some of our favourite speakers. Registration forms will be available from the 12th January 2016 in pdf format on this page. I don't anticipate having any problem filling the places this year. There will be 35 places available. Details to follow.
We are also looking to take part in the Lymphoedema Awareness week and will be organising activities during that week. Our team are also hoping to go to some of the UK conferences this year. We are now looking to forge partnerships with other organisations that have an interest in Lymphoedema.
This takes quite a lot of money and over the last 2 years LWO has totally been funded by me, which, for me personally is unsustainable. If you wish to donate to our work you will find a donate button on the support group page of this website.
The support group page over the next few weeks will be re-written. In the future I hope to add a children's section.
I am looking forward to all the new changes we are making.
